I looked in the owner's manual for your 2006 Chrysler Town & Country and did not see any time restrictions when towing a trailer with your vehicle. In order to make sure you do not damage the vehicle while towing you will first need to make sure that you are within the vehicle's capacity as far as weight goes which can range anywhere from 1,000 to 3,800 lbs depending on how the vehicle is loaded/equipped. If you would like further information on your vehicle's towing capacity then I recommend taking a look at page 358 in your owner's manual.

The next precaution you will need to take is being able to monitor the fluid temperatures such as engine oil and transmission fluid. The engine oil temperature is more than likely displayed on the dash but transmission fluid temperature on the other hand is a bit more difficult to monitor as most modern vehicles do not come equipped with such gauge. You can add one to your vehicle which eliminates the guess wok with part # D13009.

Finally, if your vehicle does not have the tow package or if the tow package did not come with any supplemental engine/transmission coolers then I strongly recommend adding one such as the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler part # D15902. This supplemental cooler will not only improve towing performance but will also work to extend engine/transmission life.
