Yes, according to the Thule fit guide, the Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier, # TH911XT, will work on your 2009 Nissan Xterra.
If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes, the Bike Adapter Bar, # TH982XT, will be needed in order to carry the bikes more level. I have included a link to a video demonstrating how the adapter works.
