Question:
I store two Harleys in enclosed trailer , would like to put battery tenders on them during winter. Would also like to use trailer to sleep in for weekend camping where power is not available. Also need power for ocassional use of hand tools, grinder, drills etc. Thinking a deep cell battery might work with an inverter but not sure a solar charger will keep up with running a radio and light a small compressor for blowing up mattresses and other camping needs for a weekend. if you leave your car lights on for only an hour and it drains the battery how long could this last? Any ideas on a cost effective way of accomplishing all of these tasks without the use of the tow vehicles battery.? Thanks for any insight!

You can absolutely use a battery in your trailer to do all the things you desire. You will simply want to get a deep cycle battery and get the amp hour rating you desire.
I recommend using the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - 25 Amp # 331-BCDC1225D or 40 Amp # 331-BCDC1240D. You add the 60-Amp MIDI Fuse Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle 40-Amp BCDC Battery Charger # 331-FK60 to protect your batteries and get a system that will allow you to charge AGM, gel, standard led acid, calcium, and Lithium ion (LiFePO4) batteries with capacities of up to 200 amp hours with the 25A or 200 and greater amp hour batteries with the 40A unit. Both options give you the ability to add solar charging as well. This system will protect your starter battery in your vehicle from being drained even if you almost entirely drain your trailer battery.
The deep cycle batteries will allow you to use an inverter like the WAGAN Tech Power Inverter 1000 Watts with Three AC Receptacles # WC3720.
