Question:

Were considering purchasing a 2008 Honda Odyssey but it does not have the factory tow package. Can you tell me what the OEM parts would be and what they would cost? It looks like we would need a transmission and power-steering coolers, along with the hitch and wiring. We already have a Tekonsha brake controller, though wed have to transfer from our current 2007 Sienna.

Lets start with a hitch for your 2008 Honda Odyssey. For that the best option is the Draw Tite part # 75270 which is a confirmed fit and has plenty of towing capacity. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well. For wiring you'd need to start with a 4-way like the # 118438 and then convert it to a 7-way with the # ETBC7 which comes with everything needed to wire in a brake controller as well. Install videos for these two products attached to this page as well.

For a transmission cooler we had the chance to install the Derale part # D12902 on a 2008 Odyssey just like yours and found it worked well. Check out the install video I attached for that as well. Then for a power steering cooler we have the Derale part # D13212 which would fit and work well.

Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
