Availability of Adapter to Plug Into 7-Way and Provide 110V AC Power Outlet

Updated 12/30/2025 | Published 06/02/2018

Question:

I don’t know what term to search to see if you have it. Looking for something that can plug into my 7pin tow on my truck and on the other end is a standard household two prong or three prong outlet to plug things into. Is there such a thing? Thanks!

It sounds like you are looking for an adapter like the Pollak 7-Way to 12V Power Outlet # PK11896. This will plug into a 7-Way on the vehicle and provide a 12V plug on the other end that can be used with 12V accessories.

In order to then convert this for use with a household 110V AC power outlet like it seems like you are wanting to do, you will need to plug in a power inverter like the Scosche InVert Portable Power Inverter # 332-PI130 to the Pollak Outlet. Just note that if you are powering your accessories without the vehicle running, it will drain power from the vehicle's battery.

There is not a 110V AC power outlet available that is able to plug directly into a 7-Way.

Hi Chris, I am looking for an adapter that I can plug my cargo trailer into a 110v outlet so I can use the lights inside the trailer while it is parked by the house and not have to hook it to the truck for power. Is this something that is available? Thank you, Jimmy

@Jimmy @chris I came here looking for this as well. If it does exist.. will it turn on all the exterior lights? Interior lights on my trailer are factory installed and switched. I would like to be able to use them when on shore power or generator power on the Jobsite. Thanks in advance

I am looking for the exact opposite of this. Does such an adapter exist?

@Jim So something that plugs into a 12V outlet and has a 7-Way on the other end? Is that what you are needing? There's nothing like that out there to my knowledge (my knowledge isn't all-knowing, mind you). I'm curious how you would be using something like this. Let me know if I'm way off, too.

@ChrisR I need to power the jack on the trailer. I don’t have a truck & am one of at a loss how to possibly power it without one. If I could plug it into a 120 home outlet, that would also work.

@Jim Usually in situations like this people will mount a battery on the trailer so that it can be powered at any time. And then the 7-way is attached to the tow vehicle a maintenance charge is put on the battery to keep it topped off.
