For a 2009 Dodge Ram with an 8 foot bed you would actually need Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TH43003XT-000. This comes with the 21000 series base rails which are designed for 8 foot beds.
Ladder rack # TH43002XT-606 is designed specifically for certain Nissan Titan trucks.
