Question:

on the 75448 there is a plate on the left hand side what is it used for. now on the c13001 there is no plate why?

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch # 75448 for your 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara has a wiring harness mounting bracket welded to the hitch cross tube. Curt hitch # C13001 does not. If you will be using the hitch for just accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier then you would not need to worry about a wiring mounting bracket.

But if you will be doing some towing then having the mounting bracket means one less part you would need if you wanted to permanently mount a trailer connector to the outside of the vehicle.

For a trailer wiring harness you can use # 56002. If you were to route the 4-Way end down through the bottom of the cargo area and out to the hitch you could then use # 18144 and attach it to that bracket on the Draw-Tite hitch. But if you install the wiring harness as instructed then it will just hang out of the rear hatch when needed and you would not need any mounting brackets.
