For your 2017 VW Golf Alltrack, the tire chains I recommend for your 205/55/17 tires are the Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link # TH01221097. These will provide more solid grip on snow and ice and are made of high-quality manganese nickel alloy steel to last. These are Class S compatible for reduced clearance.
If you really want cables instead of chains, I recommend the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains - 1 Pair # PW1034 if you want the ladder style. You will also need the Glacier Multi-Arm Rubber Adjusters # PW105 for proper fit and tension. These cable chains are made of carbon steel.
To determine if your AWD vehicle has restrictions on tire chains, you will need to consult your owners manual. Unfortunately VW doesn't allow me to look at the owners manual online to assist.
