ST215/75-14 Tire/Wheel Recommendation for Boat Trailer with Surge Brakes
Updated 05/10/2018 | Published 05/09/2018 >
Question:
I need a tire and rim for my boat trailer. The tire is a ST215/75R14. The trailer is equipped with surge brakes so the rim needs to have an inside diameter big enough for the brake caliper. Are all of the tire/rim combos you show for trailers suitable for trailer brakes? Thanks,

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, all of our tire/wheel combos are compatible with brakes on a trailer.
Since you are looking for a combo to put on your boat trailer I recommend going with the Karrier ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire with a Galvanized Wheel # AM32182. This combo has a load range rating of C (1,870 lbs at 50 psi) and has a max speed of 81 mph. The 14" wheel has a galvanized finish for superior rust corrosion against water and the common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern should match up to your hub perfectly.
I have linked our selection of tire/wheel combos in that tire size for you to filter through as well as a review video of the combo that I recommended.
