Question:
I intend to attach this winch to the front of my boat trailer to replace the existing manual hand-crank winch. Im pretty limited physically and want to try loading assist using the plug-and-play wireless remote option available for this winch. My existing hand-crank winch is mounted to 3 x 3 angled riser. How would I mount this Bulldog winch to the existing angled riser so that it is oriented correctly. Would I need to purchase any additional adapters, mounting plates, U-bolts, etc.? Ive attached a photo of the current hand-crank winch setup. Also, for servicing a 17-foot freshwater aluminum bass fishing boat with a 70 hp outboard motor, should I be considering the synthetic rope version of this winch or the wire-rope version?

Basically you would remove the winch you have now and bolt on winch # BDW15018 in its place. Although you do want to have as straight of a line pull as you can so wherever the bow eye is on the boat you will want the opening on the fairlead on the winch to be at the same level. That really goes for any kind of winch.
Whether or not that requires any modification or additional parts will vary among different applications.
Since this is for a boat trailer I do recommend the synthetic rope version since it will hold up better in marine types of environments.
The wireless remote add-on for this winch is # BDW20212. I have also included a link to our help article on how to wiring an electric winch.
