Yes, you can use a standard 12V battery, like what you would find in your vehicle, to charge the breakaway battery on your trailer like what is found with the kit # 20099. If you have a fully functioning 7-Way on your tow vehicle and trailer then you could also tie into that to charge your breakaway battery.
To keep your 12V battery charged you may also consider using the CTEK MULTI US 7002 # CTEK56353 when you are parked near a standard wall outlet.
