How to Wire 12V Power Supply for 4-Pole Wiring Kit in 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class

Question:

I have a 2010 GLK MBZ and want to wire it for a simple kayak trailer. Can I take power from the 12v connecters at the rear of the car? They are rated for 15A 180w.

All 4-pole wiring harness kits for your 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class that are shown on the linked page, including the universal no-splice ZCI kit # 119250KIT, need to wire directly to the vehicle's battery. This is to provide protection for your vehicle's internal wiring from shorts and other potential issues on the trailer.

Although it is temping to do so for convenience none of the makers of these wiring kits recommend using any type of vehicle internal power outlet since that would not provide the intended protective isolation for the vehicle's own wiring.
