Yes, the Dual-View Clip-On Towing Mirror, # 11953, should work great on both your 1997 Ford Expedition and your 2005 Ford F-150. We have a video showing just how to install these universal mount towing mirrors.
I would personally choose the custom towing mirrors for each vehicle, because they would provide a much better view when towing.
For the 1997Ford Expedition, the Custom Towing Mirrors, # 11601 and # 11602, would be the correct fit.
For the 2005 Ford F-150, the Custom Towing Mirrors, # 11801 and # 11802, would be the correct fit.
I have posted a photo one of our customers sent in with the # 11602 mirror on his F-150.
