Hi, Do you need a control key, to install a new sks lock core? I know you need one to remove an old core, but Im only installing a new one. Thanks

Yes, the special Yakima Control Key # Y8007835 is required to both remove and install lock cores such as # Y8771-A146. For an extra key to operate this particular lock core after installation use key part # Y8772-A146.
