Troubleshooting Titan 60 Hydraulic Surge Brake Actuator Not Gravity Feeding the Lines
Updated 03/20/2018 | Published 03/19/2018 >
Question:
Am hooking up the Titan 60 brake actuator. Poured Brake Fluid into the reservoir, and nothing is coming out. Before hooking up all the brake lines to the disc brakes, I wanted to make sure gravity flow would fill the lines, thereby eliminating a lot of air bleeding. What is the problem? Is it me?

Helpful Expert Reply:
I ran this by a couple of our installers and they said some of those drum brake actuators have a check valve in the coupler that won't allow gravity feed. Some of those check valves require like 10 lbs of pressure to allow the fluid to move. I recommend using a vacuum bleeder like # PTW87030 to get your fluid in the system without any air and then you will be sure your system is ready to go.
