Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Subaru Crosstrek for Bike Rack

Question:
Hi, I have a 2018 Crosstrek and looking to install a hitch for carrying a bike rack. The bike rack will have a capacity of 2 bikes. As such, do you recommend the 2inch receiver or the smaller 1 1/4inch receiver? Regards,

Helpful Expert Reply:
Whenever available I like to recommend a 2 inch hitch as they are the most common and rated the best. This means that there will be more bike racks made for it and they will be easily carried. For your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek I really like the EcoHitch part # 306-X7365 as it is a 2 inch hitch that can have the hitch tube remove when not needed so that there would be not hitch visible when you don't need it.
I realize this is a pretty expensive option, so we do have the Draw Tite part # 76209 that will work great as well but will be a bit more visible at all times.
