We carry 2 trailer hitch receivers to fit your 2012 Ford Edge; the Curt part # C13067 and the Draw-Tite part # 75728. Between them I prefer the Draw-Tite simply for aesthetics. With the Curt hitch you can see the entire crosstube on the Edge but the Draw-Tite only shows the receiver tube opening. Take a look at the pictures I've attached.
For wiring to power the trailer's lights use part # 118515. It plugs in behind the tail lights and has a power wire that runs to the Edge's battery. I've linked an install video for you.
I've also linked an article to help you determine the correct rise or drop you need in a ball mount, as well as a link to our selection of ball mounts to fit a Class III hitch.
