Question:
2017 Kia Sportage - I like the curt class 2 hitch for my purposes. How do I mount the plug outside nice and clean like on the drawtite? Can I attach the mounting bracket directly to the plastic lower bumper since Kurt doesn’t provide a plug mounting bracket like drawtite. Other options?

Neither of the Class II hitches for your 2017 Kia Sportage come with a wiring harness mounting flange. The one you see is on the etrailer Class III hitch # e72TR.
There are many mounting brackets that you can use though. Whether or not the wiring can be run externally on a given vehicle is a product of the vehicle itself and how the harness installs. Basically on affected vehicles if there is a grommet somewhere in the bottom part of the cargo area through which you can route wiring then it can be ran and mounted to the outside of the vehicle. Otherwise you would have to drill a hole.
But let's say you choose wiring harness # 118698. Because of how it installs, see linked video, you won't have to worry about finding grommets or drilling holes. You just need a mounting bracket for the 4-Way. You could attach bracket # 18140 to the hitch and # 18144 to the end of that bracket.
