Your 2008 Ford F-150 is compatible with Pop & Lock Gate Defender tailgate lock # PAL9900. These types of locks prevent theft of the tailgate itself. If you want to prevent the tailgate from opening you could use # PAL8250 but it is only compatible if the truck has power door locks.
