It isn't a question of legality so legally, yes, you could install a hitch and tow the small boat and trailer with your 2007 Nissan Versa. If you were to take the vehicle in for warranty work and they saw the hitch they could say that it voids the vehicle warranty. But consumers are protected by the Magnussen-Moss warranty act that states, in part, that if you install an aftermarket part on your car then it will not void the warranty unless that part caused the problem.

Given that the vehicle is a 2007 you may not even have a warranty on it anymore.

If you decide to install Curt trailer hitch # C11348 then you will also need a ball mount, ball, and wiring to tow the trailer. The recommended ball mount is # C45520. If the trailer takes a 1-7/8 inch ball use # C40001. If it takes a 2 inch ball use # C40018.

And for a trailer wiring harness you can use Tekonsha harness # 118545 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the vehicle. I have linked videos showing example installations of the hitch and wiring for you.
