How do I remove this to channge brake light

The DeeZee Tailgate Assist like # DZ43301 will simply allow you to pull the shock absorber to remove the top portion and allow access to your tail light assembly if you find the bolts interfere with the shock location on your particular model year. The hardware should not need to be removed.
If you find that removal is your desire, I've attached videos of the installation to help you in removing the components.
