Expert Reply:
There are two sets of safety cables that are required by law for all flat-towing application. There are what is referred to as short and long safety cabes. Short safety cables connect the base plates to the vehicle and long safety cables connect the base plates to the RV's trailer hitch.
The short safety cables included with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit part # BX3824 can be wrapped around anywhere on the vehicle's frame and base plates crossbar. The location of the short cables are not as specific as the long cables so long as they are free of moving parts.
The long safety cables included with the Blue Ox Acclaim Tow Bar part # BX4330 will need to be first attached to the safety chain loops on your RV's trailer hitch, then through the tow bar and connected to the two safety cable tabs welded to the bottom of the crossbar on the above base plates. I have attached a photo showing the safety cable weld tabs for you.
You will need to use the Loctite Threadlocker 262 part # LT37420 while installing the above base plates on the vehicle. I have also attached our flat-towing help article which outlines safety cables for you as well.
