Question:

Do I need cables/chains on both sets of wheels? Or just the main drive wheels?

According to the owner's manual for your 2016 Kia Sorento, tire cables under 15 mm thick are recommended instead of tire chains. Since you have an all wheel drive (AWD) model, it is also recommended to use the cables on all four tires.

For your Sorento, I recommend the Titan Chain Diagonal Alloy Cable Snow Tire Chains part # TC729DC as long as you have 235/65-17, 235/60-18, or 235/55-19 tires. If you have a different size tire please let me know what that size is and I would be glad to offer additional recommendations for you as well.

The above cables have a v-track which will have a better contract patch compared to ladder style cables and will also produce a smoother ride. They come with rubber adjusters to provide a snug fit on your tires and are sold in sets of two. You will need two sets in order to cover all four tires on your Sorento.
