Question:

will this bike rack fit on a 2005 wrangler X ? Im guessing yes, based on the reply to the 2014 wrangler...could be hear sayfoot but heard that the spare tire plate for wranglers was reconfigured in 2007....thanks

Yes, the Surco Spare Tire 3-Bike Carrier # BT300 referenced in your question is indeed confirmed to fit your 2005 Jeep Wrangler X. The backing plate on the rack will attach to the rim of your spare tire by sliding it over the mounting plate for the wheel.

If you plan on carrying any children's, woman's or alternative frame bikes, you might also need an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01.
