Question:

I have a 2010 Honda CR-V with fixed mounts on the roof. Is it possible to get a crossbar kit that will fix my vintage 1988 Thule Combi 600 rack?

For your 2010 Honda CR-V, in order to get a system that is compatible with your 1988 Thule Combi 600 you will need round or square crossbars.

I recommend the new Thule SquareBar # TH712400 crossbars along with the # TH460R foot pack and # THKIT3042 fit kit. This roof rack will give you a crossbar spread of 28 inches with a more traditional appearance.

If this will not fit the mounting locations on your carrier, you can simply drill new holes to fit and use Replacement Vinyl Hole Covers for Thule Time Travel Series Roof Mounted Cargo Boxes # 10171. To further seal the old holes, I recommend using a silicone sealant like # 0160299 that will handle the temperature changes and will keep water out of your box.
