Cause for Trailer Brake Controller to Display Error Code CF

Break controller is saying CF what can be causing this issue all of a sudden?

You did not mention which trailer brake controller you have but since you viewed information about the Prodigy P2 # 90885 I reviewed the troubleshooting codes for that unit. The error code CF is not among those listed so I suspect you have another brand and model of controller. Since these error codes are often specific to the particular trailer brake controller I will need to know the brand and part number of the unit you have to be able to determine the cause.
A Google search on that error code suggested you might have an older Hayes Blackbird brake controller but after reviewing the instructions for that unit and speaking to a technician there I still cannot determine which controller you have based on the error code CF.
Please tell me the item's part number and I will be glad to assist.
