Removing the Head of the Reese 16K 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:

Yes How do I take off the 5th wheel hitch Head? I need to replace a Retaining clip that has fallen off of the Arm that engage and disengages the Clamps? I ordered the clips from yall. Thanks

On your Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs # RP30047, to get to the retaining clip you mentioned, you will want to remove the hitch head and that can be done really easily. There is a pin with a snap ring on the back of the hitch in the center. You will simply remove the snap ring and pin and then back that large pivot pin out from the cross member to remove the head. I've attached a video to assist and this portion is toward the end of that video at the 4:20 mark.
