The brake controller that I recommend for you to use with your 2017 Newmar Ventana LE is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. We have found that the Tekonsha products are not only reliable, but they have also received great reviews from many different customers.
The P3 is a great controller because it will apply the brakes on your trailer at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply the brake pedal in your Ventana. The LCD screen is easy to read and doesn't use codes like a lot of other brake controllers do.
There are no plug-in adapters for your Ventana so you will need to hardwire in the included pigtail. Typically the wires that you need to connect the brake controller to are found either under the dash by the steering column or they will be located by or under the driver seat. You will want to connect the following colors on the pigtail to the appropriate functions:
Black - 12V Power
Blue - Brake Controller Pin on 7-Way
White - Ground
Red - COLD Side of Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake pedal is pressed)
If you are not sure if you have located the correct wires, you can use a Circuit Tester # PTW2992 to test any wires that you find.
