Question:
I have a prodogy controller. When hooked up and moving down the road the screen constantly is showing numbers flash even without the brake pedal pushed. I dont think this is correct. Do I have a bad controller?

Out of the Prodigy P2 # 90885 and P3 # 90195 the only time anything would be flashing is on the P2 when a trailer is not connected. It flashes a "n.c" code on the screen for 15 seconds.
If that is not what is happening then you could have a bad controller but I recommend checking your wiring first. If it is displaying the numbers as if the brakes are being applied then that means your Prodigy controller is somehow being told to send power to the brakes while you are not pressing the brake pedal.
This sounds like either the Red wire is connected to the HOT side of the Stop Light Switch instead of the COLD side. You can verify this by using a Circuit Tester # PTW2992 and testing the Red wire. Without pressing the brake pedal there should be no power to that wire. If you are using a plug-in adapter then you will want to test the wire the corresponds with the Red wire on the plug-in adapter. If not then you will most likely need to rewire the Pigtail # 7894.
If this doesn't fix your problem then you probably have a bad controller and will need to get it replaced as something internally is going on.
