Does the Draw-Tite Activator IV Brake Controller Stay On with No Trailer Connected?

Question:
Have a factory 7 pin, and controller wired to vehicle via a harness. Worlks perfect ! Question - - does the brake controller unit stay on when not connected to trailer ? Will it drain my vehicle battery ? Thanks

The Draw-Tite Activator IV, # 5504 will show a decimal point when there is no trailer connected. The display will go blank when the controller goes into power-saving mode, which occurs when there is no motion for 15 minutes. This will not cause a significant drain to your battery as the LED lights on the display draw very little power.
