Question:

I have a Yakima King Joe 2/3 and a new, 2017 Subaru Outback. Do I need a new rack or will this one work? Thanks. Only carrying at most two bikes, usually 1, but drive 600 miles or so each way, 3x years so want a safe connection. Thanks.

I have a solution for you, however I reached out to Yakima to verify the fit and unfortunately, the KingJoe 2 and 3 are not fits for the 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon.

Instead, I recommend the Yakima FullBack 3 bike, part # Y02633 or 2 bike, part # Y02634 . These are the successors of the KingJoe series, and the FullBack adds a few more features such as integrated rack and bike locks to the KingJoe style. Additionally, the FullBack's straps are able to mount safely to a wider variety of vehicles.

I have a Superjoe pro 3. Can I fit that on a 2017 Subaru Outback or a 2016 Mazda CX-5.

I checked with Yakima and unfortunately it looks like the SuperJoe is a no-fit for both your Subaru Outback and Mazda CX-5. For a Yakima trunk-mount rack that will fit both of these vehicles I highly recommend the FullBack # Y02633.
