There are numerous trailer hitches available for the 2005 Ford Five Hundred. I recommend going with a class III trailer hitch because it will have a 2 inch receiver that will afford you more options in terms of accessories. You can go with one such as the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 75299. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a video showing installation on a similar vehicle.
I would not say that this is an overly difficult hitch installation provided that you have all of the necessary tools (listed in the instructions) and an extra set of hands. However, depending on how much experience you have with automotive projects and/or how comfortable you are with this type of installation, taking to have it installed may be a good idea.
While I am not familiar with the PA area, I can tell you that authorized Draw-Tite, and Reese dealers, shops that work on trailers, or a trusted mechanic can install the hitch for you.
Suspension enhancement may not be necessary since the tongue weight capacity of this hitch is 350 pounds. You will be able to tell once a trailer is connected if any sort of enhancement is needed.
For a ball mount, you can use # 2753 and clip # PC3. For a ball, you can use # 19260 (1-7/8 inch diameter), # 19247 (2 inch diameter), or # 63847 (2-5/16 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, use T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, # 118395. I have included a link to the installation details for the wiring harness for you to view.
