How to Remove Lock Cylinder in Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock When Locked and No Key

Question:
See answer to my question below, I can only flip up a black cap to this lock housing, I cant see the lock face to see a number on it. How do I detach the lock cylinder from the lock housing? To find a replacement key of the lock housing of the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock, # THSTL2, there is a number that is engraved on the lock face of the lock cylinder that is installed in the lock housing. The number is usually an alpha numeric number that will start with the letter N, like N2862. As an example, if your lock has number N2862, then the replacement key would be , # THKEYN2862. The attached link lists all the Thule keys that we carry. Just match the number on the lock to the key on the product page.

Without a key and the lock unlocked removing the lock cylinder will involve having the lock drilled out and then replacing the cylinder. A locksmith will be able to drill the lock cylinder for you.
The Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders, # TH450200, will give you two lock cylinders, two keys, and a change out key. This set will replace the lock cylinder in the hitch lock.
