Helpful Expert Reply:
I checked with Thule and the Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket # TH859XT referenced in your question is confirmed to fit the factory crossbars on your 2017 Toyota 4Runner. The low profile for the factory crossbars is not going to cause an issue as the only mounting hardware that will sit below the bar is the horizontal end of the u-bolts.
This is an extremely nice cargo basket that includes fairing to help minimize drag and wind noise. It has overall dimensions of 49 inches long, 40 inches wide and 6 inches tall. I have attached a demonstration video on this product for you to check out. The installation details have also been included for your review.
