For your 2014 Chevy Sonic, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11240 if you have a sedan. If you have a hatchback, I recommend the Draw-Tite # 24878. These options are both easy bolt on applications. The Curt hitch requires a support strap # 18050.

For a bike rack, I recommend the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitches # S64670. This is an adjustable bike rack that will allow many styles and sizes without adapters. This includes women's, children's, and alternative frame styles. I recommend using the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Swagman Bike Racks w/ 1-1/4" & Combo Shanks - 7' # S64031 to secure the rack to your hitch and the bikes to your rack. This is a nice and easy to use system that will also work with a larger hitch receiver of you have another vehicle.
