can I mount a stromberg ladder on my 2010 springdale 297 and if so what side on the back

The Stromberg Carlson RV Exterior Ladder w/ Hinges # LA-401 referenced in your question is a universal designed ladder and does not have a specific RV fit guide. The ladder is designed to work with most RVs on the market.

This is a very nice ladder that will provide a weight capacity of 250 pounds and at full length measures 99-1/2 inches tall and 12 inches wide. The legs on the ladder can be trimmed for length with a tube cutter or hacksaw, depending on the height you will need for your trailer. When installing the ladder, you will just want to choose a location where it will not cover up the license plate or rear signal lights on the RV. Also make certain that all screws on the mounting brackets are fasted to the RV's blocking or subframe on the roof. If you are unsure if your RV has backing installed, I recommend contacting the RV manufacturer to confirm. It is unsafe to use a ladder that is not connected to the RV's backing or sub frame.
