Recommended Roof Top Cargo Bag On A 2011 Honda CR-V With A Crossbar Spread Of 25

Question:

We are looking for a roof top cargo bag. We only have the cross bars on our 2011 Honda CRV EX...has a sunroof...Can you tell us what product we can use. The cross bars in between the bars are only 25 wide, on top of the bars 29 wide and unmovable...across the other way , side window to side window between the bars is 36 wide... Thank you.

I do have a few options for you to consider on your 2011 Honda CRV. However, most cargo bags will not sit atop the crossbars but rather use them as an extra mounting point. Therefore, a rooftop cargo bag will sit directly on the vehicle's roof which will not allow for the use of your sunroof while installed or allow for much weight to be carrier.

For a rooftop cargo bag, I recommend the Rightline Gear Sport 3 XL Rooftop Cargo Bag part # RL100S30. The Rightline Gear Sport will hold up to 18 cubic feet of gear and is water resistant. In order to eliminate scratches to your vehicle's roof, you will want to use Non-Skid Roof Protection Pad for Rightline Rooftop Cargo Bags part # RL100650.

I suggest using a roof basket in addition to a cargo bag to further distribute the weight of the load and minimize the risk of interference with your sunroof. A cargo basket will also provide you with a much greater variety of cargo accessories.
