Question:
REF: Your part number 24679 confirmed for 2001 New Beetle excluding turbo. I have a 2001 New Beetle w/turbo. Is there a hitch for it?

The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24679 is a confirmed fit for the 2001 Volkswagen Beetle both with and without turbos. You will need to do some minor drilling in addition to modifying the heat shield in order for you to install this item.
For a hitch mounted bike rack, I recommend using the Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # Y02457 as this bike rack will tilt downward to allow for easy access to the rear cargo area. I have also included a list of all our 1-1/4" bike rack and cargo carrier options for you.
Attached is an installation video of this hitch on a similar year 2002 Volkswagen Beetle for your viewing.
