Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Bike Rack for a 2017 Chevy Spark

Updated 06/19/2017 | Published 06/16/2017

Question:

I am looking to purchase a hitch and then a bike holder. I have a 2017 Chevy Spark 1 Lt. The OEM part described and pictures looks different which is understandable but HOW and where it is installed seems not to be the same. OEM Part Name on Checy Site: Accessory Carrier Mount Not for Towing for Spark with 110lbs Maximum Capacity Part #: 19354461 Brand: Chevrolet OEM. Your item number appears to be different but looks the same for Item # c11411. Can you clarify. I want to buy a hitch and then purchase a single bike carrier via your site if you can recommend.

For your 2017 Chevrolet Spark, from what I found online it looks like the Chevrolet OEM Trailer Hitch Receiver 19354461 that you referenced looks identical to the Curt # C11433 Class I 1-1/4 inch receiver that we have on our site. This receiver will install by getting bolted under the Spark to the body frame.

Whether you have a lot of experience working on vehicles or if you don't mess around much with cars and even if you are installing the hitch by yourself, then you still should be able to install the Curt hitch. It is estimated to take 40-80 minutes on the instructions, we estimate about an hour. I attached a video to help you out. Keep in mind that the Curt will requires you to use a Stabilization Strap # 18050 for any non-trailer loads.

The bike rack that I recommend for you to use is wheel mount the Kuat NV 2.0 Base # BA12B which includes a tilting feature which allow you to gain access to your rear cargo area while your bike is loaded plus a folding feature that helps with rear clearance when your bike isn't loaded. My favorite part about this bike rack is that those features are activated via foot pedal. The NV 2.0 Base also has integrated bike and hitch locks to help deter theft of your equipment.
