Question:
I have a 2010 Mitsibushi Outlander that has a Curt Class III Receiver 13581 installed as well as a CURT T-Connector 56102 for a 4-way connection. I would like to upgrade the 4-way connector to a 7-way and Im interested in ordering the ETBC7 package. I noticed that there is a no-drill mount bracket available in a short 18140 and long 18136 version. Although dimensions are available for both of these brackets, there are no dimensions available for the multi-tow adapter included in the ETBC7 package, which Im assuming is a Hopkins 4 Flat to 7 Blade and 4 Flat 47185. Im wondering how long this adapter is and which no-drill mount bracket I will need to order. The receiver frame is about 2-1/2inch length by 1-1/2inch height, which leaves 4inch with the long version 3inch x 6-1/2 and 1-1/4inch with the short version 3x 3-3/4. I know the longer bracket will definitely work, but what about using the short bracket for a more streamlined appearance? Also, with the bracket thats included with the multi-tow adapter, what is the distance between the corner of the bracket and the top of the 7-way circle? Will the 7-way circular connector clear the receiver frame or will there be interference behind the bracket? Hopefully that makes sense.

When we installed Curt hitch # 13581 on a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander the hitch pin hole in the receiver was only 2-inches forward of the rear bumper so you will probably be better off with the short no-drill bracket # 18140. This will clamp onto your hitch tube with the included ring clamp.
The 7-way bracket included in the # ETBC7 kit will in turn screw on to the no-drill bracket. You will have plenty of space behind the rear of the 7-way to clear your hitch cross tube.
