The ball hole how far back is it to front of the ? Also this is for a 1 inch diameter ball shank correct ?

On Curt ball mount # C45446 from the center of the ball hole to the nearest vertical part of the ball platform is approximately 3 inches. This ball mount has a 1-1/4 inch ball hole so if you wanted to use a ball with a 1 inch shank you would need to use reducer bushing # F-2.
