If you are looking for a trailer hitch receiver and wiring for your 1982 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade then you have come to the right place.

The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13412 is a great option for a trailer hitch receiver that we have. It has a 4,000 lbs Max Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) and a 400 lbs Max Tongue Weight (TW). This hitch will require some drilling to install.

When it comes to wiring for your Jeep you will have to do some splicing to get the appropriate connections. The 4-Pole Hardwiring Kit # 18252 comes with a Circuit Tester so that you can make sure you care connecting the correct wires for the correct functions. This kit comes with quick-splice connectors but if you are wanting a more secure connection point you can use the Deka Butt Connectors # 05731-5.

If you choose to mount your 4-Way at your bumper then you will want to use the Mounting Bracket, part # 18144. If you do not want to drill into your new hitch you can use the Long # C57202 or Short # 18140 No-Drill Mounting Bracket.

If your setup requires that you use a ball mount I recommend going with the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts and 2 hitch balls to fit your application. You will want to measure your Rise and Drop to make sure that you get the appropriate ball mount though. (see attached article)
