Question:
We have a 7-way on our trucks but not sure if it is keeping our battery charged in our dump trailer what can we do to see if it is working proper

Dump trailer batteries are often very large deep cell batteries that take a pretty decent amount of amperage to charge. The 12 volt accessory circuit of your 7-way really isn't going to be able to put a solid charge on the battery. It will help maintain it but if you are looking for something to bring back the battery after operating the dump enough times that it starts moving slow there isn't a way to do that through the 7-way.
You could use a winch wiring kit like part # BDW20307 or # BDW20206 to put a solid charge on the dump battery but it will require another connection (included) every time you connect to the trailer. This includes charge wires that are 6 gauge in thickness.
