Updated 03/29/2017 | Published 03/28/2017 >
Question:
I use my trailer is salt water. No matter how well I clean the salt water off the disc brakes rust shut and the wheels wont turn until I can break the disc pads free. Is there any solution to this. Thanks

To better prevent rusting on your disc brakes, I recommend upgrading to a combination stainless steel and dacromet brake assembly like the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10 Inch Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 # K2HR35DS. This type of construction and finish will offer the most corrosion resistance. I still recommend cleaning them as best you can just as you have been doing, as this will only help to extend the life of the brakes, especially considering their high exposure to salt water that you mentioned them having in your question.
I have attached a link that will take you to our disc brake assemblies. You can use your bearing numbers and axle capacity to find the correct replacement brake assemblies for your trailer.
