We have a couple of different options for you to haul a kayak and canoe with your 2016 Dodge Ram.
One way to haul your kayak and canoe is with a truck bed ladder rack. I recommend going with the Yakima OverHaul HD # Y01151-58 for a handful of reasons; it has crossbars which have a T-Slot in the top which is compatible with most roof mount accessories, the height is adjustable to fit your needs, and the legs are contoured at the top to match the style of your truck cab so it looks a little more sporty. Then for a canoe carrier/kayak carrier you can use 2 of the Thule Portage # TH819 and the adapter kit # THXADAPT12 which allows you to mount it into the T-Slot on top of the crossbars.
If you would rather not haul your boats using your Ram's bed, we have some small trailers that will work great as well. The CE Smith Boat Trailer # CE48810 is the first option that I have for you. It has an 800 lb weight capacity so don't have to be worried about that. This is a great option because you have the option of just backing the trailer into the water for easy loading and unloading, and it comes with a winch which helps with that as well. It is constructed of Galvanized Steel so it is very rust resistant as well.
For the most compact trailer we have the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08107. It is very lightweight and uses crossbars as the way to secure your boats. It has a weight capacity of only 250 lbs though so you will need to make sure that your boats weigh less than that. The great thing about this option is the versatility that it offers. You can use it to haul boats, bikes, cargo boxes, and just about anything else that doesn't exceed the weight capacity. If you are hauling more than 200 lbs Yakima recommends using the HD Shocks # Y08110, and the width can be increased so that it can hold two 22 foot boats using the Tongue Extension # Y08109.
