I went out to the warehouse to take that measurement on the MaxxTow Tow Hook # MT70028 for you. From the center of the pin hole to plate where the hook starts to come out is 4-1/8 inches. To the back of that plate it is approximately 1/4 inch less so 3-5/8 inches.
