Question:

Hello, i have a car with a sportrack that looks similar to the sr1002 but there is no key code stamped on any of the four locks. There is a big E11 but on the base metal plate on all 4.

The number you gave isn't a number for the key to the lock core. If you have the key you can use the number on the key to get a replacement. If not, you will need to replace the lock cores and they come with the key and you can add the quantity needed # 05011500000. To remove the unlocked cores, you will need Universal Change Key for Thule Locks # 853-1251.

I have a sportrack sr1002 and the key was broken off inside one of the locks. I was able to get it out. The number on the lock is 009 and I ordered an n009, but it is not the right type of key. Please advise.

The Sportrack SR1002 will use the Thule keys and lock core mentioned when the number 009 is on the lock. Since you stated that won't work the manufacturer is also surprised. The older racks use # 05011500000 as you referenced. Thule who makes Sportrack has now gone through two key style changes since then. If you have that system, then to remove the unlocked cores, you will need Universal Change Key for Thule Locks # 853-1251 or you can just pry it out with a flat head screwdriver since you will be replacing them, just make sure you don't damage the housing when prying them out. There isn't a replacement option if they are locked without drilling out your lock cores and installing new ones. If you will be drilling plan for the correct depth so you don't damage the housing.
