Question:
I have a mid year 2016.5 Mazda CX-5. I am looking for a class III hitch but ones listed say they dont work for the mid year models. Is there a hitch that will work or a modification that can be made?

We just recently confirmed with Curt that their 2-inch Class III hitch # C13315 will indeed fit the mid-year version of the 2016 Mazda CX-5. The noted fit exclusion was temporary, until Curt engineers could get their hands on the 2016.5 to test fit this hitch.
If you also need a 4-pole wiring harness you can use Curt kit # C56310. This is illustrated in the linked review video and the linked article will assist your installation.
