Can Curt Hitch C13315 Fit 2016.5 Mazda CX-5 with Back Up Camera

Question:

I have mazda cx5 2016.5. Compared to the 2016 it seems the backup camera could be a problem for Curt or Draw tite class 2 hitches but I do not understand how or why. Can you explain?

We just called our contact at Curt and they told us that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C13315 will fit just fine on your 2016.5 CX-5.

They said the only thing that changed on the 2016.5 model is the static pack which includes a back-up camera. If anything is placed in the hitch with a camera installed then you can expect issues when using the camera on the back of the vehicle, but there is no issue installing this hitch on the vehicle.

What that means is that you will end up with some of the camera's viewing angle blocked if you had a hitch accessory installed in the hitch like a bike rack or cargo carrier.
