Question:

Hello, My question is urgent due to the dealer about to do work on the car. We need to get an answer rapidly regarding the availablility of a Thule fit kit. This is regarding the Subaru Outback 2017. The Touring version now has low-profile flush rails attached to the roof already. For some reason the Thule fit kit for this is not shown on your site or on other resellers sites. Yet Thule has evidently already manufactured the fit kit for their feet for Subaru. My goal is to get the LB60 crossbars on the roof of this car. I am missing the fit kit. What is the fit kit number and where can it be purchased? If Thule is not planning to sell the fit kit by itself due to an agreement with Subaru hope not!, I would be ready to buy the nearest equivalent with Yakima. Maybe the new CoreBar 60, the feet, and the adapter fitting for the Outback. Thanks.

To use 60" crossbars on your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon with the flush rails you will need to use a Yakima system since the Thule recommends the 47" WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711220 for your vehicle but there is limited space on the underside of the bars for the feet to fit. For a Yakima rack you'll need the following parts:

60" CoreBar Crossbars - # Y00422
RidgeLine Towers - # Y00145
Fit Kit - # Y06028
Lock Core Kit - # Y07204 (optional)

This gives you the longer crossbars you're looking for and fits directly to the flush rails on the roof of your Outback Wagon Touring.
